The Plymouths are back! These old beasts haven’t lost the slightest of edge over the decades, and will be on display along with other beauties of the drag racing era at the 2018 edition of the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals. For Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, this year is extra special, as it celebrates 50 glorious years of some of the best known dragsters, muscle cars, classics and even new brands. Of special note are the 1968 Dodge Dart, Dodge Super Bee, Dodge Charger, Plymouth Barracuda and the Plymouth Road Runner. The exhibition is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the famed Carlisle Fairgrounds between July 13-15, 2018 in what will be a mopar lover’s paradise.

The Plymouth Super Stock Barracuda featured on the ‘Legends of 1968’ T-shirt has a memorable history. This was one of the cars that Don Grotheer steered and galloped to victory at the 1969 NHRA Winternationals. A year back, Plymouth had taken 70 Barracudas and converted them for a new war, adorned with streaks of red, white and blue. The cars came to be known as the ‘A-bomb’ and are still seen racing in their own class today.

The legendary SS Barracuda features on the new T-shirt, so that visitors to the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals can walk into the exhibition with a new style, or bring home the old excitement with a wallpaper and mobile cover. The merchandise features five legendary Dodge and Plymouth cars that made history in 1968 – the 1968 models of SS Barracuda, Plymouth Roadrunner, Dodge Coronet/Superbee, Dodge Charger and the SS Dart.

Quarter Mile Addiction will not only make the Carlisle edition more special, but is looking forward to the other three big events of the year: the Mopar Nationals, Mopar Fest, and the NHRA US Nationals. Fans can visit the official website for more updates and new launches that will be happening soon.

The ‘Legends of 1968’ T-shirt and accessories are available in a limited edition from the official Quarter Mile Addiction online store. All merchandise is available with global shipping in 3-5 days, and urgent deliveries are available.

Braves release slumping Bautista, Camargo to play 3B

May 20, 2018

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves have released Jose Bautista a month after picking up the veteran slugger and will make Johan Camargo their starting third baseman. General manager Alex Anthopolous said the team made the decision Saturday before Camargo drove in two runs in an 8-1 win over Miami. Camargo, a switch-hitter, will play every day. The 37-year-old Bautista hit .143 with two homers and five RBIs in 12 games with the Braves after having his contract purchased from Triple-A Gwinnett. The six-time All-Star struck out 12 times in 35 at-bats. "We agreed, for him, if there wasn't going to...

May 20, 2018

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Tampa Bay Rays reliever Sergio Romo played 11 seasons before making his first major league start. Not even 24 hours later, Romo will make his second. Romo will start for the second consecutive day in the finale of a four-game series against the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday, Rays manager Kevin Cash said following a 5-3 win on Saturday night. "I'm sure it will be talked about, but hopefully it works," Cash said. Romo struck out all three batters he faced in the first inning, using 18 pitches to fan Zack Cozart, Mike Trout and Justin Upton....

Robertson's grand slam helps surging Rays past Angels, 5-3

May 20, 2018

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Daniel Robertson grew up watching games at Angel Stadium and was in the stands when the Los Angeles Angels won the World Series in 2002. Coming back home with the Tampa Bay Rays, Robertson could not have conceived the Big A would be the site of his first grand slam. Robertson homered for the second consecutive game and the Rays held on after Mike Trout's ninth-inning homer for their sixth straight victory, 5-3 over the Angels on Saturday night. The Rays are back at .500 for the first time since the second day of the season after...

Dodgers' Rich Hill has no solution for recurring blister

May 20, 2018

WASHINGTON — Blisters on the middle finger of his pitching hand are nothing new for veteran Dodgers left-hander Rich Hill, but the latest one is worse than usual and he doesn't know how to solve the problem. Hill threw just two pitches against the Washington Nationals on Saturday night before he was pulled with a recurrence of the blister problem that has already put him on the disabled list twice this season. "It's frustrating as anything for me. To go out there and put the bullpen and team in this position," Hill said after the Dodgers used seven relievers to...
